Family Promise to Host Fifth Annual Giving Day

April 9, 2024

SUMMIT, New Jersey — On Thursday, April 11th, Family Promise will celebrate its fifth annual Giving Day, a 24-hour campaign to support families facing homelessness. Family Promise’s national network of nearly 200 Affiliates will come together to participate in this annual fundraising event.

This year, Family Promise is asking participants to help raise funds to bolster critical work across the country. Family Promise is often the only shelter solution in communities that will keep families together while in crisis.  Offering eviction prevention, emergency shelter, stabilization and housing services, each program ascribes to national best practices yet is customized to the needs of the local community.  Approximately 80% of families served by Family Promise successfully secure and maintain permanent housing.

“We believe that every child deserves a home,” said Family Promise CEO Cheryl Schuch. “We all have the power to make a difference in the lives of families experiencing homelessness. No gesture is too small when it comes to giving families in need the opportunity to succeed.”

Last year Family Promise raised nearly $400,000 in support of children and families experiencing homelessness.  This year a special matching gift opportunity has been established to help bolster participation.  Since inception, Family Promise Giving Days have raised over $2.5million providing much needed support to families across the United States.
